Some Hidden Gems In Mobile Monopoly

When marketing online, staying focused is key.

My purpose in writing this blog post is once again to share marketing tips and techniques that you may find helpful in your quest for online marketing success.

Hidden GemsI purchased Mobile Monopoly a few weeks ago at the suggestion of my good friend Jim Hageman. Jim and I seem to be very much on the same page when it comes to marketing on the internet. I have some other gems to share with you over the next few weeks that Jim and I are working on together, so I hope you stay tuned.

Mobile Monopoly

There's a lot of information included with the Mobile Monopoly download, so plan on spending several days to wade through it. Also don't expect to make your first million on your first campaign. Like anything else it's a matter of trial and error, and one thing I found is that the campaigns available change often, so what is mentioned in the videos may not even be available now. Adam is updating on a fairly regular basis via email, so he's keeping his content current.

Now to the gems. This is mainly for those that already have a blog or web site up and you are getting traffic. If not, then it's an added incentive for you to get one going. In the Mobile Monopoly training the info is geared mainly for marketing to cell phones and this is a true marketing frontier. But we don't want to leave out the fact that we are still engaged in marketing online and many people have a lot of time and energy invested in their blogs and web sites.

Make Your Posts Smart Phone Friendly

In an earlier post (Making Your Posts iPhone Friendly) I share thoughts on the importance of making your web site or blog format in such a way that its easily viewed on iPhones and other smart phones through the use of a WordPress plugin called WPTouch. This is a critical step in marketing with your blog. Read on.....it's gonna get good.

Okay, so again I purchased Mobile Monopoly with the intent of marketing to cell phones, and I'm doing that, but in the process I stumbled on something that is probably obvious to the folks who are making a ton of money online, but wasn't to me so I wanted to share it with you, my readers.

When you use Mobile Monopoly tactics, there are several steps.

First you have to decide on an offer. This is through one of many companies that Adam mentions such as Peerfly, Offermobi, and others. In fact there are hundreds of companies out there that act as a holding tank of sorts for offers. Similar to Clickbank if you know about them.

Secondly you have to decide how you want to advertise. This is similar to Google adwords or Yahoo or Microsoft's program (don't remember it off hand). You get a link for the offer which includes your affiliate link, place the ad on the network, and then are charged on a pay per click basis. In other words it's going to cost you money to advertise the offers you eventually get paid on. You get paid on the action taken by the person clicking.

This is where the process gets complicated a little so take a deep breath and focus. A couple of the more known companies are Admob (now owned by Google) and adfonic. There are dozens more but this is where I'm at for now.

Again the first action is the click and you get charged, maybe a nickel. This can be on a banner or text link on your site or a banner or text ad that is delivered by Admob or adfonic on a cell phone. That's where they come in...they deliver the ad. You can specify the geography, the carrier, the time of day, gender, age, any number of specifics on how your ad is delivered and to whom.

You've seen the ads. You're playing a free game on your iPhone and there's a link to get free ringtones or some such. Someone paid for that to be there, and if you click on it and perform the necessary action someone gets paid for the delivery.

The necessary action other than clicking varies. It may be you entering a phone number, or your email address, or in some cases a very detailed bit of information on you. The publisher of the ad (you) then gets paid maybe $1 or $2 even into the hundreds of dollars depending on the offer.

Cost Per Action Is The Key

Here's a big difference I want to point out. This is not like a traditional affiliate program where you are being paid for the sale of a product. Again this uses what is known as CPA or cost per action. Someone clicking on an ad and entering a phone number can get you paid, or entering an email address. Advertisers understand the importance of getting that lead.

So here's the gem in case you missed it....if you don't have a blog, you have to pay to advertise the offers. If you do have a mobile optimized blog you can advertise the offers for free, and they can be delivered online or on cell phones. No cost to you for clicks.

So let's recap.

1) You find an offer at Peerfly. My favorite because it was so easy to set up. Still haven't finished the process with Offermobi. Simply search the offers and pick one that relates to an article you're writing and drop it in.

2) You write an article on your mobile optimized blog and include the offer code in the body of the blog.

3) You also have the option to place your offer on a network like Admob or adfonic to have it delivered direct to cell phones. You get LOTS of impressions this way.

4) Track what you're doing...rinse and repeat.

There you go. Hope that makes sense. If not shoot me an email at hiddengems at tonylogue.com

Tony I loved your post on Gems and yes- That advice is Gold to include a link in a Mobile optimized blog. One gem I can contribute is by way of an important piece of feedback from Mobile users. What I learned is- not enough websites they are able to visit are Mobile friendly yet and Mobile users are frusrated to the back teeth with website distortions. The images are terrible and they cannot navigate on normal websites. So be in the first wave to be Mobile friendly with your websites and wordpress blogs and- the Mobile searches and traffic is yours for the asking. Mobile Monopoly is a great innovation and great product for targeting ads on Mobile Phones. I have a Review on my blog which is not Mobile optimized yet. I will get to that ASAP and its an easy process. Like all offers Mobile Monopoly does have its drawbacks and you need to know what they are. You can read about it on my blog. I have used Adfonic and its easy and fun network to run ads in other countries mainly in Europe. Offermobi is easier than it looks and Once you set a couple of campaigns up on the networks they are all similar. You become familiar with the setups and it is easy to set up new campaigns in a new network. Enjoy; back soon Phil
