Is Network Marketing A Good Business Model?
With any marketing effort staying focused is key.
The purpose of this blog post is to share marketing tips and techniques that I discover in the hope of opening your mind to other possibilities.
Network marketing as a business model has been around for over half a century. It's viability as a successful model is not up for debate. Whether or not it's the right business model for you is another question.
Today I want to take a moment and just hit on a few points that make it such a popular model, and one that you should consider if you haven't already.
Advantages of Owning Your Own Network Marketing Company
- Portability - you can build and manage a network marketing business from anywhere. Especially in the new age of smart phones and cell phones allowing internet access. Recently I was on a weekend trip with family. While having breakfast I checked my email and saw where a prospective customer had sent an email stating they were looking at my opportunity and considering me as their sponsor. I stepped outside, called them up, answered their questions, and by days end they were onboard as my newest affiliate.
- Lifestyle - it's not just the money. Network marketing, unlike most traditional businesses, affords you the opportunity to earn above average income, and still have the freedom to enjoy the fruits of your labor. This freedom is due to the fact that you are able to leverage the efforts of others in addition to your own efforts, which is the next reason.
- Leveraged Residual Income - network marketing gives you the ability to earn income not only on your efforts but the efforts of others. That's leverage. The residual factor comes about from the opportunity to earn income over and over again from the initial sale. This can be compared to renewal commissions that insurance agents receive, or writer royalties earned from book authors or song writers.
- Unlimited Potential - network marketing is one of the only business models in existence where you have the potential to earn more than the person above you. Think about that. In fact sales jobs on the whole are one of the few positions in traditional business that has that potential. I can sponsor you into my opportunity and you have every chance to earn more than me through your efforts. The only limitation is how hard you are willing to work.
- Limited Risk - network marketing businesses offer the chance for you to own your own business for a relatively small amount of money. Most opportunities you see can be started for under $100. Now in my experience this can be a two edged sword. Because of the low commitment many people don't realize the true potential offered by network marketing and simply give up without really putting in the necessary effort. If you had invested $200,000 instead of $200 your level of commitment would be much greater. However, network marketing has the potential to return much more to you financially than a traditional business for lower cost and less time commitment.
- No Boss - you are the owner and manager of your own business. Of course you have to abide by the rules of the programs you represent, but at the end of the day it's totally up to you how you want to run and manage your business.
- No Employees - network marketing is not about having employees but a group of people working together to promote products or services and helping each other achieve success.
- Low Operating Cost - unlike traditional business, a network marketing business can be run for a relatively small amount of money. On a personal basis, including product purchases, all my marketing costs, and system expense, I spend less than $200 a month to run my network marketing business. Now this doesn't include the cost of my cell phone and meals and entertainment and such. That's just the hard cost directly relating to my business.

Great post Tony loved it!
It sure is a great Business model the way I look at it is like this.
Say I have a job working 8 hours a day making someone rich. I am giving up my time for money and I am only earning some little money for 8 hours and for the other 16 hours I am not earning so there is no earning potential and also I am only getting 1 income stream!
With internet marketing however there is unlimited income streams and they work for me 24/7 365 a year and I still can do only 8 hours or less a day. Its weird actually I was out last week with my better half and some friends drinking champagne when I checked my emails on my new xperia x10 mobile and noticed that when I paid for the bottle and finished it I more than covered the cost of that very expensive bottle. so for me in a way it was free and i was enjoying myself with friends!
now how cool would that be! thanks for this post dude!
All the Best.
